| Bedtime Story: A Double
by Coreopsis |

See how Kevin seems to be standing either in a pyramid or in front of one?
That's because he's not a pop star.
This is Dr. Kevin Richardson, the tomb raiding archeologist who gets into all sorts of exciting adventures when he's not making co-eds swoon by teaching entry level archeology classes at some small-but-prestigious private university. See, the school is so thrilled to have the world renowned Dr. Richardson on staff that they let him take off pretty much any time he needs to. A phone call comes from some mysterious person with a foreign accent, speaking in riddles and hinting at puzzles waiting to be solved. Dr. Richardson's eyes narrow and his mouth tilts up just a little as he barks at his secretary to rearrange his schedule and call in his assistant, grad student Nick Carter, from whatever project he's working on.
When he comes back days or weeks later, he's a little battered, telling only
half the story, maybe has a little extra gleam in his eyes whenever he looks
at Nick. The university PTB gratefully accept whatever treasure he's
brought for the collection. They don't mention the incredibly close
relationship the dashing doctor seems to have with his handsome young
assistant. They don't question the necessity of Nick accompanying Dr.
Richardson on his treks through the jungles and deserts and
all-but-forgotten corners of the world. They might have tried...once...back
in the beginning. But all it took was one intense dark glare and an
oh-so-casual mention of the other universities and museums that have offered
Dr. Richardson employment and young Nicky ceased to be an issue.
